Stupid Police

even I could have found a proper crime!

If you don’t know, I cycle to work most mornings, it’s roughly a 7 mile cycle. I have all the safety gear and wear it in very geeky way! I’m also very safety concious while on the road.

So, when I was pulled over by the police in van at 0820 for running a red light at a pedestrian crossing (I couldn’t see the colour properly because of the sun), I was a little pissed off. No one was at danger of getting hit and I wasn’t going very fast as I slowed as I got close to the crossing. Honestly, are the police so bored in the morning that they need to annoy people for going across a crossing. When they pulled me over I was in Denniston, surely you could find a crime in Denniston?? In fact I could have taken them to the junkies house if they had liked, they live a couple of closes down from me.

I could rant about this for ages but I can’t be bothered…so, I shall see you late!

The Westend Festival, Glasgow!

Glasgow’s Westend Festival - The Parade

Well, for all those with their ears, eyes and general senses removed the Westend festival started this weekend.

As every year so far, it opened with a big parade that files down Byres Rd and around various places in the Westend. This was my first year attending the Westend festival, I’m not really a ‘Westend’ type; what do I mean by this? Well general consensus is that when you live in the Westend you live in a magical bubble were everything is pleasant and nice and the the shops are clean etc. until you hit Maryhill at which point this bubble is burst…Anyway back to the Westend festival!

As I mentioned before it was my first time there and to be honest I rather enjoyed the whole experience. Even though Byres Road was packed out and you couldn’t move for anything the atmosphere was really colourful and friendly, plus it was really cool to walk up Byres Road sober and not get shouted at and nearly hit by cars!

So, the Parade, after meeting up with my friend Hollie we waited impatiently and child like for about 20 minutes before the Westend parade started. There was not a lot of room at the side of the road but luckily enough I knew a sound engineer who was working at one of the stages; he was helpful enough to let up on stage to take some pictures, lovely man and a hell of a sound engineer too!

Being on the stage didn’t make me take better pictures but, for a moment at least, I could see the whole parade! I have added a bunch of my photos to my flickr account where you should be able to see them!

Anyway, I had pretty good day and would definitely recommend the Glasgow Westend Festival Parade to everyone and anyone!

Lets start with a bit of comedy!

Well, I like to laugh and this guy makes me laugh

For those who have not heard of Limmy, I shake my head in shame for you, but luckily enough I’m going to show you the way. Limmy is from Glasgow, now sure where exactly, all I know is I saw him cycle through Kelvin Grove park on at bike one day and shouted, “hey!! that’s Limmy!”. I will remember that day for a while.

He has a really twist funny as F*@ck style of comdey, you either love it or hate it!
